The team completed its South Coast Soccer League fall 2017 season as champions with a win over Falmouth. The girls trained throughout the winter and played up a division in an indoor winter league to prepare for the spring season. They went undefeated during their regular season in the spring, which clinched them first place going into playoffs.

They won against Dighton-Rehoboth and Dartmouth to claim the title of SCSL spring champs, and earned their way into the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions. This highly competitive tournament is held in Lancaster, where all 13 leagues around the state send champions to compete to become the best town team in Massachusetts. The Freetown-Lakeville girls went undefeated in Lancaster, with wins against Groton-Dunstable (2-1), Braintree (3-1) and Upton (3-0).

In the semifinals, Freetown-Lakeville beat North Andover, 3-0, and then edged Acton-Boxborough for the championship with a 3-2 win.
